Haggard Cat Releases 'Warpath' Video
UK alternative rockers Haggard Cat dropped a new video for their track 'Warpath'. The single brings raw energy and heavy groove with a visually striking video, ideal for fans of riff-driven modern alt-rock. The release showcases the band's continued evolution in the UK alternative scene.
'Warpath' is the second single from the Nottingham duo's forthcoming third album, "The Pain That Orbits Life," which is set for release on May 8th via Church Road Records. The new record was produced by double Grammy Award-winner Adrian Bushby, who also worked on the band's 2021 'Cheer Up' EP. The band has described the track's theme as the moment of clarity after leaving a negative or toxic situation, like a bad relationship or job, when the romanticism fades and you see it for what it was. They consider it one of the most intense moments on the upcoming album. Haggard Cat is comprised of Matt Reynolds on vocals and guitar and Tom Marsh on drums. The two were formerly members of the critically acclaimed and chaotic live band Heck (previously known as Baby Godzilla), with Haggard Cat starting as a side project in 2011 before becoming their main focus. Their sound is a blend of hardcore punk and heavy metal, often drawing comparisons to duos like The White Stripes, Royal Blood, and Death From Above 1979. The band themselves cite The White Stripes as an enormous influence. Known for their DIY ethic and memorable antics, the band once protested Brexit's impact on touring musicians by holing up in a small concrete box for 24 hours. They also famously opened 2000Trees festival by playing a set of Nirvana covers on top of a bar. Following the album's release, Haggard Cat will embark on a UK tour in May 2026, with stops in Nottingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, London, Southampton, and Bristol.
