ASSA ABLOY Acquires Sam's Garage Doors
Global security giant ASSA ABLOY has acquired Sam's Garage Doors, a Canadian distributor, installer, and manufacturer of door and gate products. This marks another acquisition for the company as it continues to expand its portfolio of access solutions in North America.
This acquisition is part of ASSA ABLOY's ongoing strategy to bolster its presence in established markets by integrating complementary businesses into its core operations. The purchase of Sam's Garage Doors specifically aims to enhance the company's footprint in Western Canada and broaden its service capabilities throughout the greater Vancouver region. Sam's Garage Doors, founded in 1990, is based in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, where it maintains its primary office and manufacturing facility. The company has approximately 40 employees and recorded sales of about 17 million Canadian dollars (approximately 120 million Swedish kronor) in 2025. This move follows other Canadian acquisitions by ASSA ABLOY, including Toronto-based Rhinotek Entrance Solutions in late 2025 and Quebec City's MULTI ACCES in mid-2025. These purchases demonstrate a consistent effort to expand direct branch presence and service offerings across different Canadian provinces. The acquisition will integrate Sam's Garage Doors into ASSA ABLOY's Entrance Systems Division. Massimo Grassi, the head of the division, noted that the addition of Sam's Garage Doors' portfolio and customer focus will allow them to offer new products to existing customers and improve their service value in the region.
