Logan Square’s farmers market is shifting into the neighborhood’s rebuilt traffic circle plaza, with a trial run held April 12 and the full outdoor opening set for May 10. (blockclubchicago.org) The market’s new address is 2579 North Milwaukee Avenue, around the Centennial Monument in the Logan Square plaza. The Logan Square Farmers Market website lists the April 12 dry run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and opening day on May 10 at the same site. (logansquarefarmersmarket.org) Block Club Chicago reported the market expects more than 100 vendors in the new layout, including 44 weekly farm vendors, after two seasons in a temporary location during construction. The Logan Square Chamber of Commerce has described the rebuilt plaza as the market’s “forever home.” (blockclubchicago.org, loganchamber.org) The move follows a 2024 relocation forced by a two-year construction project around the traffic circle and monument. At the time, Block Club reported the market had grown to as many as 15,000 visitors on busy days, up from about 7,000 in 2022. (blockclubchicago.org) The rebuilt plaza changes how the market fits into the neighborhood. Vendors will now set up closer to Milwaukee Avenue, Logan Boulevard and the Chicago Transit Authority station entrances, instead of along the longer temporary stretch on Kedzie Boulevard. (blockclubchicago.org) For shoppers, that means a market built around a pedestrian space rather than a street closure. For nearby restaurants, caterers and event planners, it means a denser weekly meeting point with farms and food producers selling produce, flowers, baked goods and prepared foods in one place. (chicago.gov, logansquarefarmersmarket.org) The market has operated since 2005 and is run by the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce. Its website says the indoor season continues at Avondale Collective through April 25 before the outdoor market resumes in the plaza. (logansquarefarmersmarket.org, grandkedzielodge.com) If the May 10 opening goes as planned, one of Chicago’s busiest neighborhood markets will start its 2026 season back at the monument where it began, this time on a redesigned public square built to hold it.
