Ella Langley's Country Hit Tops Pop Charts

Ella Langley's 'Choosin' Texas' secured its second consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, showcasing the song's impressive crossover appeal from country to mainstream pop. This sustained chart performance highlights Langley's breakout year and the growing influence of country music on pop charts.

The success of "Choosin' Texas" is a historic milestone, making Ella Langley the first woman to simultaneously top the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Country Airplay charts with the same song. This achievement places her in an elite group, as only three other tracks by male artists had previously accomplished this feat. The song was born from a lightning-in-a-bottle moment during a writing retreat in October 2024 with country superstar Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor. Lambert shared a humorous anecdote about being pulled over with a pet kangaroo in her car, which sparked the song's central theme and was written in about 30 minutes. In addition to co-writing, Miranda Lambert also co-produced the track and provides background vocals. Her involvement was a significant stamp of approval, with Lambert stating she wanted to ensure Langley's "artistry shine through every step of the process." This isn't Langley's first major success. The Alabama native previously hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in December 2024 with her duet "You Look Like You Love Me" featuring Riley Green. That song also earned the duo a CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year in 2024. "Choosin' Texas" is the lead single from her upcoming second studio album, titled "Dandelion," which is scheduled for release on April 10, 2026. The track has already achieved RIAA Platinum status with over 310 million global streams. Langley's rise began after her song "If You Have To" went viral on TikTok. She signed with Sony Music Nashville and Columbia Records in February 2023 and made her Grand Ole Opry debut that same month. Fans can catch Langley on her headlining "The Dandelion Tour," which is set to kick off in May 2026. She is also slated to perform at major festivals like Stagecoach.
