Madison Beer's Authentic Breakup Album
Madison Beer's new album "Locket" was written in real time during a breakup, creating what she describes as "authentic emotions [that] couldn't be replicated later." She also addressed social media strain, saying "I deleted Twitter but every month I have a breakdown about quitting TikTok and Instagram" while acknowledging their career necessity.
"Locket," released on January 16, 2026, is Madison Beer's third studio album. It follows her previous full-length albums, "Silence Between Songs" (2023) and "Life Support" (2021). Her debut EP, "As She Pleases," was released in 2018 and featured the popular track "Home with You." The new album features singles such as "Make You Mine," "Yes Baby," and "Bittersweet." Beer co-wrote and co-produced the album, working with some of her longtime collaborators. The album is described as a pop and R&B record with dark pop and electro elements. Beer has had several publicly documented relationships, including with entrepreneur Zack Bia, which ended in 2019. She was also in a relationship with TikTok star Nick Austin, which reportedly ended in 2024. More recently, she has been linked to NFL quarterback Justin Herbert. The singer has been vocal about the toll of online bullying since she was discovered at age 12. In the past, she has described the constant criticism as exhausting and has spoken about the mental health challenges she deals with as a result. She has faced negative comments about everything from plastic surgery rumors to her physical appearance. Her career began after Justin Bieber tweeted a link to her cover of Etta James' "At Last" in 2012. After an initial deal with Island Records, she was dropped by the label. She later signed with Epic Records in 2019, which released her debut album "Life Support." Her 2023 album, "Silence Between Songs," earned a Grammy nomination for Best Immersive Audio Album. The single "Make You Mine" from her latest album, "Locket," also received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Pop Recording.
