SiteGround Launches AI App Builder
Web hosting platform SiteGround has launched Coderick AI, an AI-powered tool designed to make custom software development more accessible for small businesses. The goal is to remove the typical technical and financial barriers to creating custom applications.
Coderick AI is part of a growing movement known as "vibe coding," a term coined by AI researcher Andrej Karpathy in early 2025. This approach shifts development from writing line-by-line code to guiding an AI assistant through conversational, natural language prompts to generate, refine, and deploy an application. The platform is designed to create production-ready applications, not just prototypes. Generated apps come with an auto-generated backend, a database, user authentication, and version control, all running on SiteGround's own hosting infrastructure. This bundles the entire process from building to deployment into a single workflow. Users can build a wide range of applications, from portfolio and business websites to more complex internal tools. Examples include simple CRMs, project dashboards, invoice generators, task trackers, and content calendars. The AI can build these tools based on prompts like, "Create a project dashboard for a small marketing team to track tasks, deadlines, campaign progress, and client approval status." SiteGround offers a free trial for Coderick AI that includes 50,000 credits and one project. Paid plans, which are required to publish a project live, start with an "Essential" tier at $10 per month (billed annually) for 100,000 credits and one project, and a "Plus" tier at $20 per month for 200,000 credits and five projects.
