Stardew Valley Mobile Gets Ginger Island

Stardew Valley has released its long-awaited 1.5 update for mobile announced, unlocking Ginger Island for handheld farmers.

The 1.5 update introduces Ginger Island, a new explorable region with locations, characters, and quests. This island offers a new farm area where crops can be planted in any season. Golden Walnuts are hidden throughout the island and are used to unlock new areas and content. The update includes quality-of-life improvements like the ability to move your bed and paint buildings. You can also move the greenhouse and shipping bin after unlocking them. Advanced game options allow customization such as randomizing Community Center bundles and mine chests. Mobile players waited almost two years for the 1.5 update after its release on PC in 2020. The update was delayed to ensure quality, requiring a complete rewrite of the code. Despite the wait, the mobile release aims to provide quicker updates going forward. The 1.5 update also brought some unintended exploits to the mobile version, including item duplication and infinite money glitches. These involve manipulating game mechanics to create copies of items or generate unlimited funds. While tempting, these exploits may be patched in future updates. Following the initial release, several bug fixes have been rolled out to address issues. These fixes target problems like the Jumino huts crash, misplaced NPCs, disappearing horses, and animals getting stuck. The developers are committed to addressing any remaining issues with further patches.
