ISL Teams Intensify Operations Tempo
With the ISL 2025-26 season progressing, clubs like Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings are rolling out their home openers, each with unique logistical challenges, as the league's format shift (no playoffs) makes every match a must-win scenario. The pressure is on operations teams, heightening the operational tempo.
The ISL's operational tempo faces significant hurdles as the AIFF struggles to secure commercial bids, leading to the suspension of the 2025-26 season. This financial uncertainty has forced clubs to reassess budgets and player contracts, impacting the league's overall stability. The lack of a commercial partner jeopardizes broadcast agreements, sponsorships, and revenue distribution, casting a shadow over the league's future. The Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, like other ISL teams, are directly affected by this crisis. The absence of financial backing disrupts team planning, player acquisitions, and grassroots development programs, hindering their ability to compete effectively. This situation also raises concerns about potential contract breaches and the overall well-being of players. Despite these challenges, both Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings are also preparing for the upcoming IPL season. Punjab Kings will play four home games at Mullanpur and three in Dharamsala, starting against Gujarat Titans on March 31. Delhi Capitals will begin their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on April 1, with their first home game against Mumbai Indians on April 4.
