Fragment Nike Collab Teased in Black

Hiroshi Fujiwara is teasing a new fragment design x Nike Air Liquid Max collaboration in all-black colorway. Puma and Madhappy are set to release a satin jacquard Speedcat Plus sneaker, continuing luxury streetwear crossovers. Paris Hilton swapped Gucci heels for crystal sneakers in Milan, highlighting the fusion of glamour and comfort in footwear.

Hiroshi Fujiwara, often called the "Godfather of Streetwear," has a long-standing relationship with Nike, co-creating within the elite HTM design group alongside Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker since 2002. His fragment design label, founded in 2003, is known for its minimalist aesthetic and has produced highly coveted collaborations, including the Air Jordan 1 and the Dunk High "City Pack". The teased "Air Liquid Max" silhouette is an experimental step for Nike's signature technology, expected to debut around Air Max Day 2026. The design features a radical sole unit where the tube-shaped Air components are flattened and widened, creating a full-length "liquified" cushion that wraps around the shoe, visually evolving from recent models like the Air Max Dn. The Puma Speedcat model dates back to 1999, originally developed as a fireproof racing shoe for Formula 1 drivers with a thin sole for better pedal feel. It was adapted into a lifestyle sneaker in 2000, gaining massive popularity in Europe and helping to pioneer the trend of low-profile, motorsport-inspired footwear in the early 2000s. This collaboration is the first between Puma and the Los Angeles-based lifestyle brand Madhappy, which centers its identity on optimism and mental well-being. The sneaker is part of a larger 19-piece capsule collection of apparel and accessories that merges Puma's athletic heritage with Madhappy's contemporary, comfort-focused aesthetic. The fusion of luxury and comfort is a dominant trend, with embellished sneakers frequently replacing traditional heels at high-fashion events. Brands like Gucci, Balenciaga, and Off-White have seen their sneakers worn by celebrities such as Bella Hadid, Harry Styles, and Kylie Jenner, solidifying sneakers as a luxury staple.
