EGO's $6,500 Electric Mower

EGO's latest 52-inch Z6 zero-turn cordless electric riding mower is now available for $6,500, featuring six 12.0Ah batteries for extended runtime. The commercial-grade ride-on delivers all the power without gas, emissions, or noise.

The 52-inch Z6 model boasts the power equivalent of a 25-horsepower gas engine, capable of cutting up to four acres on a single charge with the recommended six 12.0Ah batteries. It features five independent brushless motors and a 10-gauge fabricated steel deck. The mower can reach speeds of up to 8 MPH and offers 10 different cutting height adjustments from 1.5 to 4.5 inches. A key innovation in EGO's Z6 line is the introduction of e-STEERâ„¢ technology in some models, which provides the precision of a steering wheel, allowing the mower to drive like a car but turn like a zero-turn. This electronic power steering is designed to offer greater control and maneuverability around obstacles compared to traditional lap bars. The Z6 platform is designed for user customization with an LCD interface that allows the operator to choose between three driving modes: Control, Standard, and Sport. For added convenience, it includes features like 32 LED lights for mowing in lower light conditions, a USB charging port, and Bluetooth connectivity. While the upfront cost of electric riding mowers is often higher than their gas counterparts, the long-term operational savings are a significant factor. Electric mowers eliminate the need for gasoline, oil changes, spark plugs, and air filters, resulting in lower maintenance costs and reduced downtime. Over several years, the total cost of ownership for an electric mower is often lower than for a comparable gas model.
