The Michelin Guide Portugal 2026 was revealed at a ceremony in Funchal, Madeira. This year's guide features a total of 210 restaurants, including new entries and establishments with Two Michelin Stars, One Michelin Star, Bib Gourmand, Green Star, and Recommended status. Lisbon's Fifty Seconds earned Two Michelin Stars, joining eight other restaurants in Portugal with this distinction. Chef Rui Silvestre's tasting menu, "Fauna e Flora," at Fifty Seconds is inspired by the sea and incorporates Mozambican and Indian spice notes. Porto is also a culinary hotspot, boasting four new One-Michelin-Star restaurants: dop, Éon, Gastro by Elemento, and In Diferente. Chef Rui Paula reimagined the culinary concept at dop. The Algarve region gained recognition with Alameda in Faro earning its first Michelin star, bringing the region's total to eight. The guide highlighted Alameda's mastery of local seafood and its blend of modern techniques with traditional recipes.
