Cher Announces Memoir Part Two

Cher has announced the second installment of her memoir series, "Cher: Part Two: The Memoir," set for release November 17, 2026. The book is published by Dey Street Books and currently available for pre-order at $36.00. This follow-up promises to continue Cher's candid storytelling about her legendary career and enduring impact on music and culture.

This isn't Cher's first time at the literary rodeo; her initial memoir, "The First Time," was released in 1998. That book was a collection of essays focused on "first-time" events in her life and was co-written with Jeff Coplon. The first installment of this new, more comprehensive series, "Cher: The Memoir, Part One," was released on November 19, 2024. It debuted at number one on The New York Times Bestseller list, selling over 44,000 copies in its first week. "Part One" covers the period from her childhood through her tumultuous relationship with Sonny Bono, ending around 1976. The narrative details her difficult upbringing, her early struggles as a dyslexic child, and her rise to fame alongside Sonny. The book also delves into her personal life during that era, including romances with figures like David Geffen and Gregg Allman after her separation from Bono. The audiobook for the first part was read by Cher herself and Stephanie J. Block, the actress who portrayed her in the Tony-winning "The Cher Show." Dey Street Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, is known for publishing high-profile memoirs from cultural figures. Their roster includes books by RuPaul, Gabrielle Union, Amy Poehler, and Dave Grohl. The upcoming "Part Two" is expected to pick up where the first volume left off, chronicling her life and career from the late 1970s onward. This would include her successful solo music comebacks, her Oscar-winning acting career, and her enduring status as a cultural icon.
