Fremont Restaurant Week Kicks Off
Fremont Restaurant Week 2026 is now underway, with 70 local establishments participating. The event offers a wide range of meal deals and new dishes designed to boost the local dining scene.
Fremont Restaurant Week was initially launched in 2023 to help local eateries recover from the economic challenges of the pandemic, including staffing shortages and supply chain issues. The event was created to support small businesses during what is typically a slower time of the year. The first event saw 40 restaurants participating, exceeding the city's initial goal of 20. The number of participating establishments has grown steadily each year, with over 40 in 2024, 62 in 2025, and now 70 for the fourth annual event in 2026. In past years, the event has had a significant positive impact on the local economy. A survey following the 2023 event showed that a majority of participating restaurants experienced at least a 25% increase in revenue. Additionally, 92% of restaurants reported attracting new customers. The event is a collaboration between the City of Fremont's Economic Development Department, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, and Yelp Bay Area. Global foodservice distributor Sysco has been a major sponsor of the event. While many restaurants offer discounts or prix-fixe menus, some of the most popular deals in previous years have been unique, limited-time menu items created specifically for the event. To encourage diners to visit multiple locations, the event features a "restaurant passport." Patrons can get their passport stamped at participating eateries and submit it to the Fremont Chamber of Commerce to be entered into a raffle for prizes. In 2024, over 3,000 passports were submitted.
