Taeyong has set April 17 for “Rock Solid,” a new single featuring Anderson.Paak, in his first solo release since finishing military service. (soompi.com) SM Entertainment said the song will be released at 1 p.m. Korea Standard Time on April 17, which is midnight Eastern Time in the United States. The agency described the track as a statement of “determination” and said Anderson.Paak’s groove is paired with Taeyong’s rap. (koreajoongangdaily.joins.com) The collaboration links a Seoul-based K-pop star and a Grammy-winning American musician with Korean roots. Anderson.Paak, born Brandon Paak Anderson, won Album of the Year in 2022 as part of Silk Sonic and has worked across hip-hop, rhythm and blues, and pop. (britannica.com) For Taeyong, the single opens a new solo chapter after a long pause. He enlisted in the South Korean Navy on April 15, 2024, and completed his service on December 14, 2025, becoming the first NCT member to go through enlistment. (kpopnewswire.com) His last solo extended play before enlistment was “Tap,” released on February 26, 2024. That followed his debut solo extended play “Shalala,” which arrived on June 5, 2023. (music.apple.com 1) (music.apple.com 2) The teaser also lands inside a larger NCT campaign that started this month. NCT launched its 10th-anniversary project, branded “NCT 2026” and “Everything, All at Once, Neo,” on April 9 through a dedicated website and teaser video. (2026nct.com) (youtube.com) South Korean media reports say Taeyong is also preparing a first full-length solo album for May, with “Rock Solid” arriving first as a digital single. SM Entertainment has not released the full album’s track list or exact release date. (koreatimes.co.kr) The immediate next marker is simple: April 17. By then, fans will know whether the teaser’s rough-edged imagery points to a one-off single or the opening sound of Taeyong’s next album cycle. (soompi.com)
