SiteGround Debuts AI App Builder for SMBs
Web hosting platform SiteGround has launched Coderick AI, a new tool designed to let small businesses build custom software without technical expertise. The company aims to make app development faster and more affordable, removing a major barrier for small-business growth.
SiteGround's foray into AI app development comes as the no-code and low-code market is experiencing explosive growth. The market is projected to be worth over $30 billion in 2026, with some analysts predicting 70% of new enterprise applications will be built using these technologies. This surge is driven by a need to accelerate digital transformation and empower "citizen developers"—users without formal coding training. Coderick AI enters a competitive landscape that includes established players like Bubble and Softr, as well as offerings from major tech companies like Microsoft Power Apps. Many existing tools focus on generating code or layouts, leaving users to handle hosting, databases, and security separately. The key differentiator for Coderick AI is its all-in-one approach that integrates app creation directly with SiteGround's hosting infrastructure. When a user builds an app by describing it in plain language, the tool automatically handles deployment, version control, user authentication, and security on SiteGround's servers. This aims to reduce the friction that often occurs after the initial app generation. Founded in 2004 by university friends in Sofia, Bulgaria, SiteGround has grown into a major independent web hosting provider, now serving over 3 million domains worldwide. The company, which migrated its infrastructure to Google Cloud in 2020, has a history of building its own in-house solutions, such as its custom control panel. The new AI tool is designed to create a range of applications, from business websites and portfolios to more complex web apps like internal dashboards, CRMs, and client portals, all through natural language prompts. This positions SiteGround to compete not just with traditional hosting companies, but with a new generation of AI-native development platforms.
