Claude's diagram export

- Anthropic added a 'diagram-design' skill to Claude that generates 13 diagram types on demand. - The feature can export outputs as HTML or SVG, producing Figma-like diagrams in seconds. - That removes early wireframing friction and could accelerate schematic and information-design stages. Anthropic has expanded Claude from a text-and-code assistant into a visual design tool that can generate working diagrams and export them as web-native files. (anthropic.com) Anthropic said on April 17 that Claude Design is rolling out in research preview for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers, with Enterprise access turned off by default. The company said the product can create designs, prototypes, slides, and one-pagers through a chat interface paired with a canvas. (anthropic.com) (support.claude.com) Claude already had a foundation for this shift. Anthropic’s Help Center says Claude can build custom diagrams, charts, and interactive visuals directly in chat using HyperText Markup Language and Scalable Vector Graphics, the same file formats used for web pages and vector illustrations. (support.claude.com 1) (support.claude.com 2) A diagram tool matters because early product and information-design work usually starts as rough boxes, arrows, and screen layouts before any code ships. Anthropic’s pitch is that users can describe a dashboard, onboarding flow, or prototype in plain language and then refine it with inline comments, direct edits, and sliders. (support.claude.com) (anthropic.com) That puts Claude closer to software used for wireframes and mockups, even if Anthropic is not positioning it as a full replacement for Figma or other design suites. In its launch post, Anthropic said product managers can sketch feature flows and hand them off to Claude Code for implementation, while designers can use it to explore multiple directions quickly. (anthropic.com) Anthropic is also tying the feature to company design systems, the shared library of colors, fonts, and interface components that keeps products consistent. The company says Claude Design can read a codebase and existing design files during onboarding so later projects automatically use a team’s brand patterns. (anthropic.com) (support.claude.com) The release builds on Anthropic’s earlier Artifacts feature, which opened a side-by-side workspace for code, graphics, diagrams, and website designs in June 2024. That earlier step gave Claude a dedicated place to render and edit substantial outputs outside the main chat window. (anthropic.com) (support.claude.com) Anthropic says Claude Design is powered by Claude Opus 4.7, which the company markets for dashboards and data-rich interfaces. The result is a product line that now stretches from inline chat visuals to full canvas-based design work, with exports meant to move from conversation into review and implementation.
