Jumbo's Jumboree Opens Singapore
Jumbo's Jumboree opened in Tai Seng, Singapore featuring beloved food brands, wines on tap, and live music. The food hall combines curated dining with nightlife entertainment in one destination.
Jumbo's Jumboree is the first food hall concept from the JUMBO Group, which is primarily known for its iconic JUMBO Seafood restaurants that started in 1987. The new food hall is located on the first floor of the J'Forte Building in Tai Seng, which also houses the JUMBO Group's headquarters. Spanning a massive 17,997 square feet, the fully air-conditioned venue brings together over ten of the group's diverse brands. Patrons can find well-known names like Kok Kee Wonton Noodles, Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh, and the Hong Kong-style "cha chaan teng" Tsui Wah all under one roof. The anchor of the food hall is Jumbo 1987, a new concept modeled after Hong Kong's lively open-air food stalls, known as "dai pai dong." This stall offers many of JUMBO Seafood's signature dishes, such as cereal prawns and mocha pork ribs, but at nett prices without a service charge or GST. It also features exclusive items like a curry fish head served with a giant fried dough fritter. The food hall caters to the area's office crowd with lunch sets starting from S$8.80 and a digital ordering system where customers scan a QR code to order and pay. In the evenings, from Monday to Saturday, the atmosphere shifts with live band performances, transforming the space into a social hub. A unique feature is the self-service beverage station with over 20 options for wine and beer on tap, including craft brews like Ondeh Ondeh Porter and Birds of Paradise White IPA. The system charges by the milliliter, allowing customers to sample various drinks. The choice of Tai Seng for this new concept aligns with the area's ongoing development as a business and lifestyle destination, providing a new dining and entertainment option for the industrial hub's workforce and residents.
