Angry Chickz Brings Hot Chicken to Fremont
Nashville-style hot chicken chain Angry Chickz is expanding to Fremont, California. The restaurant, known for its signature spicy chicken tenders and sandwiches, will be opening a new location in the city, with the exact date still to be determined.
Founder David Mkhitaryan launched Angry Chickz in 2018 from a 900-square-foot storefront in East Hollywood after falling in love with Nashville-style hot chicken. Mkhitaryan, who had worked as a cook in his father's restaurant, spent a year perfecting his own spicy chicken recipe before opening the first location with his wife and a friend. The brand's rapid growth is fueled by a simple, focused menu centered on spicy chicken tenders and sandwiches, which simplifies operations. By the end of 2024, the chain had grown to 28 locations with $55.6 million in sales, posting a 58.7% year-over-year sales increase and average unit volumes of $2.1 million. The new Fremont restaurant, located at 39350 Paseo Padre Parkway, marks the company's 31st location nationwide and its 28th in California. The grand opening on August 15, 2025, featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the city's mayor, and some fans began lining up as early as 2 a.m. Angry Chickz offers a range of six spice levels, from "Country" (no heat) to "Angry," which is made with some of the world's hottest peppers like the Carolina Reaper. For the "Angry" level, customers are required to sign a waiver before they can order it.
