Wesley Vissers ready for Arnold Classic

Dutch pro bodybuilder Wesley Vissers says he's at his "absolute best" ahead of the 2026 Arnold Classic and confirmed his entry for the Detroit Pro competition. Vissers is widely seen as a strong contender in the Classic Physique category after months of peak preparation.

After a triumphant win at the 2024 Arnold Classic, Wesley Vissers is heading into the 2026 season with a focus on redemption. His 2025 campaign saw a dip in performance, including a fifth-place finish at the Arnold Classic, which he attributed to a last-minute illness. Following the Arnold Classic setback, Vissers competed in the 2025 Detroit Pro, where he narrowly lost to Matt Greggo. This series of events has fueled his determination for the 2026 season, prompting significant changes to his preparation. To reclaim his top spot, Vissers has adjusted his training split to prioritize developing his back and legs, areas he and his coach identified as needing improvement. This includes a renewed focus on both width and thickness in his back muscles to present a more balanced physique on stage. His diet has also been meticulously planned, with Vissers sharing a 3,312-calorie full day of eating six weeks out from the 2026 Arnold Classic. This diet is designed to help him achieve peak condition by gradually reducing fats and carbohydrates. The Detroit Pro is a significant part of Vissers' 2026 strategy. As an Olympia qualifying event, a win there is crucial, especially under new rules that may require multiple pro show victories to secure a spot at the prestigious Mr. Olympia competition.
