Jamaica Sees Surge in Summer Travel Demand
British Airways, TUI, Virgin Atlantic, and others are providing 160,000 seats from Europe to Jamaica for summer 2026, signaling robust demand for Caribbean leisure despite global volatility.
TUI Airways will provide the largest share of seats from the UK, totaling 63,480, followed by British Airways with 41,168 and Virgin Atlantic with 31,992. British Airways will operate four weekly flights from London Gatwick to Kingston and four weekly flights from London Heathrow to Montego Bay. TUI Airways will expand its services to Jamaica with three weekly flights from London Gatwick to Montego Bay, plus two weekly services from Manchester and Birmingham Airports. Airlines from Continental Europe are also increasing airlift to Jamaica, providing 33,991 seats in Summer 2026, a 45.9 percent increase compared to 2025. Five airlines will operate 105 direct flights into Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay from May to October 2026. These flights will connect Jamaica to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan Malpensa, and Lisbon. This expanded airlift aims to support increased visitor arrivals from key European markets between May and October 2026. The Jamaica Tourist Board worked with airlines to align flight schedules with growing demand from European travelers seeking cultural and experiential travel. Tourism officials are optimistic that the expanded airlift will play a crucial role in increasing visitor arrivals from key European markets.
