Jenn Grant’s spring run behind *Queen of the Strait* is no longer a standard album tour: she has expanded it into a multimedia stage show with film, theatre and dance. (jenngrant.com) Grant’s official site lists eight Canadian dates now on sale, including Kingston on April 14, Montreal on April 15, Ottawa on April 16 and Toronto on April 17, before the tour heads to Moncton, Halifax and St. John’s in May. (jenngrant.com) The project is billed as “Cradled by the Waves — The Live Experience,” and Grant’s site says the show began in Charlottetown on March 5. Exclaim first reported the tour in November 2025 as an 11-date multimedia performance built around the new album. (jenngrant.com) (exclaim.ca) The album at the center of the run, *Queen of the Strait*, was released on March 6, 2026, with 11 tracks including “Jim Cuddy Dress,” “Crazy” and the title song. Grant’s Bandcamp page says the record draws on the same material now being staged live. (jenngrant.bandcamp.com) Grant’s website says the album title comes from the MV *Abegweit* ferry and from Epekwitk, an anglicized Mi’kmaw word meaning “cradled by the waves.” The songs trace her childhood trips between separated parents and move through love, abuse, aging, childbearing, loss and survival. (jenngrant.com) That personal history is also shaping the stage production. The Kingston Whig-Standard reported that the show uses childhood footage, new material shot by Grant’s cinematographer brother Daniel Grant, and onstage appearances by her co-writer, poet Tanya Davis. (thewhig.com) Event listings for Kingston describe the performance as a blend of live music, film, theatre and dance rather than a conventional club set. The April 14 stop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Broom Factory. (ygkevents.com) (kingstonlive.ca) Grant’s site describes *Queen of the Strait* as her eighth studio album and her “most personal work yet,” co-produced with Joshua Van Tassel and Daniel Ledwell. The tour is following that framing closely, turning the record into a traveling production instead of a straight recital of new songs. (jenngrant.com)
