La Rosa Holdings to Acquire AI Infrastructure Firm
La Rosa Holdings Corp. has signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire AI infrastructure company Consensus Core Technologies. Consensus has reportedly secured over 2 gigawatts of potential power capacity in North America. The move is designed to capitalize on the surging global demand for AI data center infrastructure.
This strategic pivot marks a significant departure for La Rosa Holdings, which since its founding in 2004 has primarily operated as a residential and commercial real estate brokerage with over 3,100 agents. The company had previously announced its new focus on developing a portfolio of advanced data center facilities optimized for AI workloads. Consensus Core Technologies, led by CEO Wayne Lloyd, builds what it calls vertically integrated "AI Factories." The Vancouver-based company provides full-stack infrastructure, from power and colocation services to GPU-as-a-Service platforms using NVIDIA hardware. The deal's leadership structure is notable: upon closing, Consensus will designate the new Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the combined company. Consensus's existing management team is expected to continue running the AI infrastructure operations. The potential 2 gigawatts of power capacity is massive, as building a single gigawatt for AI can cost an estimated $35 billion. For comparison, Meta recently announced plans for a new data center that would require more than two gigawatts of power. This acquisition aims to capitalize on an AI infrastructure market projected to grow from $135.8 billion in 2024 to nearly $400 billion by 2030. North America currently dominates the market, accounting for the largest revenue share. The transaction is being advised by Maxim Group LLC, serving as the exclusive financial advisor to La Rosa Holdings. La Rosa, led by founder and CEO Joseph La Rosa, went public in October 2023.
