Paris Baguette Opens New Texas Location

The global bakery café chain Paris Baguette opened a new location in Richardson, Texas, on February 27. The opening is part of the brand's rapid U.S. expansion, which includes over 4,000 units worldwide. The new café is located at Campbell Road and is operated by a group of local franchisees.

Despite its name, Paris Baguette is a South Korean multinational chain owned by the SPC Group, a food and confectionery conglomerate. The company was founded in Seoul in 1988 and opened its first U.S. location in Los Angeles in 2005. The company is aggressively expanding in North America with the goal of reaching 1,000 locations in the U.S. by 2030. As of early 2026, the brand has over 280 cafes open in North America and plans to open 150 more during the year. Texas is a major focus for this growth, with the new Richardson location marking the 25th in the state. To support this expansion, Paris Baguette is investing $160 million in its first North American manufacturing facility in Burleson, Texas, which is expected to create 450 jobs and begin production in 2027. The North American expansion is led by CEO Darren Tipton, who has been with the company since 2018. The growth is primarily fueled by franchising, with 70 to 80% of its franchisees being multi-unit operators. Entrepreneurs looking to open a Paris Baguette franchise face a total initial investment ranging from approximately $718,000 to $1.8 million. This includes a one-time franchise fee of $50,000. The brand's growth has been bolstered by strong performance, achieving 19 straight quarters of positive same-store sales as of early 2026. The average unit volume for a Paris Baguette cafe in the U.S. is nearly $3 million.
