TECNO to Unveil AI-Powered Smartphone Series at MWC

Smartphone brand TECNO is set to debut its new flagship CAMON 50 series at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona. The company announced the new phones will be headlined by advanced imaging and AI capabilities, alongside a broader ecosystem of AI-integrated products.

This follows TECNO's pattern of using Mobile World Congress for major launches, such as the 2024 unveiling of its PolarAce Imaging System in the CAMON 30 Premier. The brand has developed a reputation at MWC for revealing bold hardware and concept devices alongside its commercial products. The outgoing CAMON 40 Premier, announced at MWC 2025, was built around a MediaTek chip tailored for AI performance and featured a 144Hz display. Its AI capabilities included tools for photo enhancement and an AI eraser to remove unwanted objects from images. The CAMON 50 series enters a market where AI is a key battleground. By 2026, the industry trend is shifting from reactive chatbots to proactive, on-device "agentic AI" for improved speed and privacy. Competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Google Pixel 10 Pro have already pushed integrated AI suites with features like live translation and advanced computational photography. Beyond the CAMON 50, TECNO is also expected to showcase a modular smartphone concept at MWC 2026. The design is reportedly based on an ultra-thin 4.9mm phone that can be augmented with magnetic snap-on accessories, including power banks and camera modules.
