Bitget Launches AI Copy Trading Arena
Crypto exchange Bitget has partnered with Obside to launch a live AI trading arena. The platform allows users to automatically copy the strategies of top-performing AI-driven trading agents, aiming to merge social trading with machine learning execution.
Bitget's new AI-powered copy trading isn't just a feature; it's an integration with Obside's "AI Trading Arena," a live environment where AI models have been actively trading for over three months. This allows users to copy strategies that have a public track record under real market conditions, including periods of high volatility. The initial rollout is exclusively on Bitget Futures. The first AI traders available for copy trading are focused on high-liquidity, diverse assets: Bitcoin (BTCUSDT), Gold (XAUUSDT), and NVIDIA stock (NVDAUSDT). This selection allows users to observe how the AI strategies perform across different asset classes—digital assets, commodities, and equities. Some of the AI traders in the arena have demonstrated net returns exceeding 70% over several months while maintaining controlled risk profiles. A recent performance recap for AI traders on the platform highlighted an ROI of 84.57% for a trader named "Apex_Neutral". The technology behind these AI agents comes from Obside, a fintech company that specializes in turning plain-language instructions into automated trading strategies. Their platform utilizes Natural Language Processing (NLP) to interpret user intent, allowing for the creation of complex trading algorithms without writing any code. This move by Bitget aims to lower the barrier to entry for sophisticated automated trading. This partnership solidifies Bitget's dominant position in the copy trading market, where it already boasts over 190,000 "elite" traders and more than 800,000 followers. The platform has facilitated over 100 million copy trades, with follower gains reportedly exceeding $530 million. This new AI integration is a strategic move to merge their large user base with advanced machine learning capabilities. The broader trend of integrating AI with blockchain technology is attracting significant venture capital. In the first quarter of 2025, blockchain and crypto startups raised $4.8 billion, marking the strongest quarter since late 2022. Global venture capital investment in AI is also surging, with projections to reach $400 billion by the end of 2025. This influx of capital is fueling the development of more sophisticated AI-driven DeFi protocols and trading tools. The regulatory landscape for AI in crypto trading is still evolving. Regulators are focused on transparency in AI algorithms, the prevention of market manipulation, and data security. As AI-driven trading becomes more widespread, platforms like Bitget will likely face increased scrutiny to ensure compliance and protect investors from the inherent risks of automated systems.
