New Platform Bridges Fiat and Stablecoins
Singapore-based UQPAY has launched a full-stack payment infrastructure designed to bridge traditional fiat and stablecoins for global commerce. The platform unifies acquiring, accounts, card issuing, and stablecoin services into a single system, aiming to reduce friction in cross-border payments.
UQPAY was founded in 2016 by CEO Jack Li, a serial entrepreneur with a background in computer science and an MBA from the National University of Singapore. Headquartered in Singapore, the company is a principal member of Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay International, operating across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America. The platform's core is a "dual-rail" architecture, integrating traditional payment systems like SWIFT and card networks with a multi-chain blockchain infrastructure. This allows businesses to manage and settle funds across both fiat and stablecoins within a single API and operational framework. The system is built to support over 140 currencies in more than 200 markets. While the global platform's specific stablecoin support is broad, its Australian commercial-grade version explicitly names compatibility with major regulated stablecoins such as USDC and USDT. This focus on compliant digital currencies is designed to meet institutional requirements for cross-border commerce. UQPAY is targeting high-growth international sectors including cross-border e-commerce, SaaS subscription platforms, gaming, and Web3-native companies. The unified system aims to solve issues these businesses face with fragmented providers and complex multi-entity treasury management. Instead of raising venture capital, UQPAY is acting as a strategic investor itself. In late 2025, the company made a $10 million investment in StraitsX, a Singapore-based stablecoin firm.
