Yazaki to Launch Prefabricated Home Wiring in U.S.
Yazaki Innovations announced it will introduce its prefabricated electrical wiring system to the U.S. residential market in 2026. The "PreFab Home Wiring" system aims to streamline the construction process for home electrical systems. The product will be featured at the upcoming International Builders' Show in Orlando.
- Yazaki has leveraged its 85 years of experience in automotive wiring harness manufacturing to develop the PreFab Home Wiring system, which has been utilized in the Japanese housing market for over three decades. - The system is designed to address labor shortages in the construction industry by reducing on-site installation time by up to 30% compared to traditional wiring methods. - Each wiring system is custom-engineered from the builder's architectural plans and manufactured in an ISO-certified facility in Texas. - Yazaki Innovations has already completed initial installations in three Florida homes through a partnership with major homebuilder D.R. Horton and Strada Services. - The prefabricated wiring harnesses arrive on-site pre-assembled, pre-labeled, and fully load-tested, which helps to streamline electrical inspections. - Future developments for the product line include versions for home renovations, as well as the integration of high-voltage circuits for EV chargers and low-voltage systems for home automation and data. - The system is fully compliant with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and other relevant state and local building codes. - Yazaki Innovations is the tech-focused subsidiary of Yazaki North America, created to bring new technologies to market with greater agility.
