Jacksonville Food Hall and Music Venue to Open

A new outdoor food hall and music pavilion called The BLOCK Jax is set to open in Jacksonville, Florida. The venue aims to provide a family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of dining options and live entertainment. The project is intended to become a new community hub for the city.

- The project, located at 7520 Quarter Mill Dr. near Gate Parkway and IKEA, is an $8.5 million development situated on a 2.5-acre site. - The venue is spearheaded by Daniel Moffatt, founder of Kanine Social, and will feature a second location of the dog park and bar concept. - The outdoor food hall will feature eight local vendors operating out of shipping containers, including Bearded Piglet, Darkside Tacos, Chancho King, and Southern Swells Brewing Co. - In addition to daily live music, the entertainment space will include a 30-foot LED video wall for broadcasting sporting events and movies, with a capacity for around 1,000 people. - The project experienced construction delays, pushing its original Fall 2025 opening to a planned three-day grand opening event on the weekend of March 20-22, 2026. - Family-oriented features include a dedicated children's play area with unique elements like hills and tunnels, as well as lawn games and a golf simulator. - The venue will have three bars, including a main bar with 20 local and regional craft beers on tap and an upstairs cocktail bar designated as a 21-and-up area.
