Switch 2: six big May releases

- Nintendo’s U.S. store now shows a busy May lineup for Switch 2, led by Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on May 12 and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book on May 21. - The same official listings also put Farming Simulator 26 on May 19, while Nintendo separately confirmed Splatoon Raiders for July 23 and Final Fantasy XIV for August 2026. - The calendar undercuts early worries about a thin post-launch slate for the $449.99 system, which Nintendo launched on June 5, 2025. Nintendo’s own store page shows Switch 2 getting a heavier May release calendar than many buyers expected, with multiple named games now carrying firm dates. (nintendo.com) The biggest May dates visible on Nintendo’s U.S. “coming soon” page are Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on May 12, Farming Simulator 26 on May 19, and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book on May 21. (nintendo.com) That matters because the Switch 2 launched at $449.99 in the United States on June 5, 2025, and Nintendo spent much of the past year answering questions about how quickly the software lineup would fill out. (nintendo.com) Nintendo has also been pinning down summer dates beyond May. A Nintendo news post on April 21 said Splatoon Raiders, a Switch 2 exclusive spinoff, will launch July 23. (nintendo.com) Square Enix added another late-summer marker on April 24, saying Final Fantasy XIV will debut on Switch 2 in August 2026. The company said new players will need to buy the Switch 2 version and a subscription. (na.finalfantasyxiv.com) Square Enix also said existing Final Fantasy XIV players must still purchase the Switch 2 version and a separate Switch 2 subscription, though players with remaining game time on other platforms will get the new subscription at half price. (na.finalfantasyxiv.com) Nintendo has been using separate posts to spotlight some of the same games now anchoring the schedule. It said Yoshi and the Mysterious Book launches May 21, and a March pricing notice said Yoshi preorders would start a new digital-versus-physical pricing structure for Nintendo-published Switch 2 exclusives. (nintendo.com 1) (nintendo.com 2) The store page is not a full release slate, and it mixes Switch 2-only titles with broader Nintendo platform listings. But as of April 26, it gives Switch 2 owners concrete May dates, then hands off to July and August with Splatoon Raiders and Final Fantasy XIV.
