BA adds Bengaluru service

British Airways is increasing UK–India summer capacity by adding a second daily London–Bengaluru flight and boosting frequency on other major metro routes, part of a wider capacity push for summer (thetraveler.org). The same travel coverage noted pockets of promotional activity on routes to Paris, Milan and parts of the Caribbean even as overall fare pressure remains a theme for spring and summer bookings (thetraveler.org).

British Airways will add a second daily London Heathrow-Bengaluru flight from June 1, giving the route 14 weekly services through October 24. (thehindu.com) The extra Bengaluru service runs during the northern summer schedule and lifts British Airways to as many as 70 weekly India-Heathrow flights at peak, the airline said through reporting cited by The Hindu. The carrier also said it is adding more than 7,000 seats a week from India after a 196% jump in travel searches. (thehindu.com) British Airways’ own media center said in October 2025 that it was already planning a third daily Delhi-Heathrow flight in 2026, subject to regulatory and capacity approval, and said it was operating 56 direct services from five Indian cities each week at that point. That makes the Bengaluru increase part of a broader India buildout rather than a one-route change. (mediacentre.britishairways.com) The summer push also reaches other Indian metros. The Hindu reported that Hyderabad is getting larger Boeing 777 aircraft in place of Boeing 787s, adding 68 seats per flight, while Delhi is getting larger Airbus A350 aircraft from June 1, adding 59 seats per flight. (thehindu.com) Mumbai is also getting more flying. The Hindu reported that a third daily Mumbai-Heathrow service, first scheduled only from May 15 to May 31, has been extended through June 19. (thehindu.com) The timing tracks a wider network shift. The Independent reported that British Airways has cut or delayed parts of its Middle East schedule, including Jeddah, Dubai, Doha, Tel Aviv, Amman and Bahrain, and is redeploying aircraft and crews onto India and Africa routes. (independent.co.uk) That matters on journeys beyond London as well. British Airways said it has the largest network of any European carrier into the North Atlantic, and linked its India growth to trade and onward connections to the United States and other markets. (mediacentre.britishairways.com) British Airways’ public timetable says schedules can be viewed up to a year ahead and can still change during the year for operational reasons. For now, though, Bengaluru is set to have its first twice-daily British Airways link to Heathrow this summer. (britishairways.com)
