Curry Sidelined 10+ Days with Runner's Knee
Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry will be sidelined for at least another 10 days due to a lingering knee injury diagnosed as "runner's knee." Curry is expected to miss five more games, dealing a significant blow to the Warriors' playoff aspirations in the competitive Western Conference. The injury has been bothering the star guard for several weeks.
The official diagnosis for Stephen Curry's injury is patellofemoral pain syndrome, a condition often caused by overuse and muscle imbalances that create pain around the kneecap. While an MRI showed no structural damage, the injury has been significant enough to keep him off the court since January 30th. This marks a significant absence for Curry, who has already missed 10 consecutive games. The team has struggled without its star, posting a 4-6 record during this latest stretch and holding an 8-13 record overall this season in games he has not played. The Warriors currently sit in eighth place in the competitive Western Conference with a 31-29 record. Their immediate schedule presents a challenge, with a home game against the Los Angeles Clippers before a three-game road trip to face Houston, Oklahoma City, and Utah. Curry himself has described the injury as "a weird one" due to its unpredictable healing, noting that while his return will involve pain tolerance, the goal is to avoid a lingering issue. He is reportedly making progress but has not yet resumed on-court work. The earliest he is projected to return is March 13th against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
