Lotus Unveils 952HP Hybrid Beast
Lotus revealed the interior of its "For Me" model, a global launch hybrid packing 952 horsepower in a driver-focused luxury package. BMW's M2 CS, after Senner tuning, now outmuscles a Lamborghini Aventador, proving compact coupes can rival supercars in raw output. Chevrolet also launched the 2026 Corvette E-Ray Coupe 3LZ — the first hybrid Corvette with all-wheel drive.
The Lotus "For Me" is a plug-in hybrid variant of the Eletre SUV, combining a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with electric motors. This powertrain produces a combined output of 952 horsepower, slightly more than the all-electric Eletre R's 905 horsepower. The vehicle is expected to accelerate from 0-62 mph in approximately 3.3 seconds. Senner Tuning's modifications to the BMW M2 CS elevate its 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six to a staggering 710 horsepower and 638 lb-ft of torque. This is a significant increase from the stock 523 hp and was achieved through an ECU unlock and custom software. For comparison, the original Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 produced 691 horsepower, meaning the tuned M2 CS now surpasses the output of the iconic supercar. The 2026 Corvette E-Ray is the quickest production Corvette in history, capable of a 0-60 mph time of just 2.5 seconds. Its hybrid system pairs a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine (495 hp) powering the rear wheels with a 160-hp electric motor on the front axle, for a total of 655 combined horsepower. This eAWD system enhances stability and provides all-season capability. The E-Ray's 1.9 kWh battery pack, located between the seats, is charged through regenerative braking and coasting rather than needing to be plugged in. It allows for a "Stealth Mode," enabling all-electric driving for short distances at speeds up to 45 mph, perfect for quietly exiting a neighborhood. The system also works with the V8's Active Fuel Management to extend 4-cylinder operation and improve efficiency.
