Matcha retail push

Japan’s The Matcha Tokyo is opening its first North American store on Ossington in Toronto — a major move into Canada’s café scene report. At the same time Clöud Café has struck a retail deal to bring customer favorites like the Strawberry Matcha Latte and Royal Matcha into Ulta Beauty locations, aiming to mainstream prepared matcha in mass retail coverage.

139 Ossington Ave — the address tied to the new outlet — now has temporary exterior signage, suggesting fit-out is underway reported). A new Instagram account, @thematchatokyo.ca, lists that Ossington address and a planned 2026 opening, a listing local outlets spotted before any corporate press release appeared documented). Clöud Café is joining Ulta’s Wellness assortment as the retail chain’s first coffee-and-matcha brand partnership, a placement Ulta framed as part of a K-wellness push reported). Clöud’s products went live on ulta.com on March 16, 2026, and the brand is scheduled to roll into roughly 400 Ulta stores beginning March 29, 2026 announced). SKUs listed for the Ulta rollout include Strawberry Matcha Latte, Matcha Latte, Royal Milk Tea and Black Coffee, with Ulta-exclusive flavors Ube Latte and Pistachio Matcha added for the launch listed). Packaging and product pages highlight Marine Collagen, Vitamin C and probiotics as ingredients, and Cloudcafe’s product listing shows a 17 mg caffeine content for the Strawberry Matcha Latte sachet cited on Ulta shown).
