Honey Dijon Drops Star-Studded Album
DJ and producer Honey Dijon is set to release "Nightlife," a new album featuring collaborations with Rochelle Jordan, Madison McFerrin, Greentea Peng, Chlöe, Mahalia, and Bree Runway. The project promises a fusion of R&B, dance, and soul influences with some of contemporary music's most innovative voices.
Rooted in the birthplace of house music, Chicago, Honey Dijon's sound was shaped by mentorship from legends like Derrick Carter before she relocated to New York and was influenced by Danny Tenaglia. Her signature style blends the classic bump of Chicago house with New York and European electronic influences. "Nightlife" follows her 2022 sophomore album "Black Girl Magic," a 15-track project that featured collaborations with artists such as Channel Tres, Eve, and Mike Dunn. Her debut album, "The Best of Both Worlds," was released in 2017. In 2023, Dijon won a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album for her production work on two tracks from Beyoncé's album "Renaissance," titled "Cozy" and "Alien Superstar." She was sought out by Beyoncé's team for her deep knowledge of Chicago house and ballroom culture. Beyond her own releases, Dijon is a frequent collaborator with other music icons. She has remixed tracks for Madonna and Lady Gaga and served as an opening act on Madonna's Celebration World Tour. Dijon is also a major force in the fashion world, regularly creating the musical scores for runway shows by Dior and Louis Vuitton. She also has her own fashion and lifestyle brand, Honey Fucking Dijon, created with Comme des Garçons. As a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, Dijon uses her platform to champion and provide visibility for queer and marginalized voices within the music industry. Her work is deeply rooted in celebrating the history of queer Black culture in music.
