Epic Games Raises Fortnite V-Bucks Prices
Epic Games confirmed a price increase for Fortnite's V-Bucks, citing rising costs and continued expansion of game modes.
Epic Games says the rising costs of running *Fortnite* are forcing them to increase V-Bucks prices. The company states that the price adjustments are necessary "to help pay the bills". Starting March 19th, players will receive fewer V-Bucks for the same amount of money. For example, the $8.99 pack will now grant 800 V-Bucks instead of 1,000. The price for topping up with an exact amount of V-Bucks is also increasing, nearly doubling to $0.99 per 50 V-Bucks. The cost of the Battle Pass is decreasing from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks, but the amount of V-Bucks earned by completing it is also decreasing. Players will now earn 800 V-Bucks upon completion, down from the previous 1,500 (including bonus rewards). The Fortnite community's reaction has been largely negative, with many expressing disappointment, though some anticipated the move. Players are frustrated by the reduced value of V-Bucks and the potential impact on their ability to purchase cosmetic items. Some are reconsidering their spending habits or seeking alternative ways to earn V-Bucks.
