Italian Pizzeria 'Aromi' to Open in Central Oxford

The Italian pizzeria chain Aromi is opening a new restaurant on St Michael's Street in Oxford. To celebrate the launch, the chain is offering 1,000 free pizza slices to people who subscribe to its newsletter.

- This will be the first Aromi location outside of Cambridge, where the family-owned chain was founded in 2013 and currently operates three other restaurants. - The pizzeria is situated on St Michael's Street in a building that was formerly a pharmacy, located next to The Three Goats Heads pub. - Aromi specializes in Sicilian cuisine, which includes sourdough pizza, arancini, fresh cannoli, and gelato, all based on authentic family recipes. - The restaurant is slated to open in early 2026, with the company currently hiring for positions including a cafe manager, assistant manager, and pizza chef. - The brand emphasizes traditional techniques, such as resting its sourdough pizza dough for 48 hours before it is fired in a stone oven. - In addition to pizza, the menu features items like golden focaccia and Sicilian coffee, aiming to provide a comprehensive taste of the region. - The new pizzeria joins a growing scene of authentic Italian eateries in the city, including the Neapolitan-themed Il Corno, which opened in the Covered Market in 2023.
