ROBAM Features AI in Kitchen Tech

Kitchen appliance manufacturer ROBAM is showcasing a line of kitchen products with integrated AI features at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Orlando. The company, which claims to be a global bestseller for 11 years, is demonstrating its latest technology at the industry exhibition.

- The company's AI strategy includes the "Food God" cooking model, which leverages 2TB of data from 46 years of the company's experience in the culinary field. This model can recommend recipes based on available ingredients, control smart appliances to automate cooking, and generate personalized health plans through facial recognition. - ROBAM has invested significantly in advanced manufacturing, including a 50,000-square-meter "unmanned factory" that utilizes 5G, AI, and the Internet of Things. This "Black Light Factory" features 284 automated systems, has increased production efficiency by 45%, and improved the product yield rate to 99%. - A key piece of hardware is the R-MAX series range hood, which features an intelligent sensing chip that automatically adjusts suction power based on real-time air resistance in the duct. It also incorporates hands-free control via an infrared sensor, allowing users to operate it with a wave. - The firm's digital transformation strategy revolves around a "digital cooking chain" to create zero distance between R&D, manufacturing, and the user. This is achieved by collecting and analyzing data from cooking scenarios to inform product planning and marketing. - For fiscal year 2022, the company reported revenue of approximately 12.3 billion RMB, with a net profit of around 1.5 billion RMB. That year, research and development investment was approximately 500 million RMB, focusing on smart appliance technologies. - In collaboration with Huawei and China Mobile, ROBAM established a 5G-enabled smart factory, a first for the kitchen appliance industry, leveraging network slicing and edge computing for enhanced equipment interconnection and data privacy. - The company holds over 1,000 patents and operates research and development labs across eight sectors, including gas safety, electrical safety, noise, and durability. Its four production bases in Hangzhou have a potential annual output of over 5 million units. - Beyond range hoods, the product line includes combi-steam ovens with up to 13 cooking modes, 50 preset menus, and functions like air frying and low-temperature steaming. The ovens are constructed with 304 stainless steel interiors and three-layer glass doors for safety.
