Man Shot in East London; Arrests Made

A man was treated for a gunshot wound in east London before being transported to a major trauma center. Police have made arrests in connection with the shooting, though details of the incident have not yet been fully released.

The violent crime volume in 2025 represented a 4.6% increase year-over-year. - In May 2024, a nine-year-old girl was critically injured in a shooting at a restaurant in Hackney. The attacker, who fired from a stolen Ducati motorcycle, also injured three men who police believe have connections to the Turkish and Kurdish communities.
