The Paris Half Marathon, officially known as the Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris, has been an annual event since 1993. However, starting in 2026, it is referred to as the HOKA Semi de Paris due to a new sponsorship agreement. The race is a certified FFA Gold Label road race. The 2026 edition saw a record-breaking 50,000 runners participate. Kennedy Kimutai from Kenya won the men's race with a time of 1:00:11, defending his title from the previous year. Ftaw Zeray from Ethiopia won the women's race in 1:05:12, setting a new course record. The Paris Half Marathon route starts near the Place de la Bastille and takes runners through the heart of Paris. The course passes landmarks such as the Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand and the Bois de Vincennes before looping back to finish near the start. The relatively flat course is known to be ideal for both new and experienced runners. Eliud Kipchoge, who is planning to run marathons on all seven continents, may participate in the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon in May 2026. If he participates in the Cape Town Marathon, it would be part of his initiative called "Eliud's Running World". If Cape Town earns its place among the World Marathon Majors in 2026, Eliud Kipchoge will have a chance to become the first eight-star finisher in history.
