Genesis Magma Racing has confirmed the GMR‑001 will contest the 6 Hours of Imola on April 17–19, 2026 as its first competitive appearance. (trackside.media) The team has assigned the No. 17 to André Lotterer, Pipo Derani and Mathys Jaubert and the No. 19 to Paul‑Loup Chatin, Mathieu Jaminet and Daniel Juncadella, with Jamie Chadwick named as reserve. (trackside.media) Genesis says the GMR‑001 completed almost 25,000 km of development running across representative circuits, including a single engine that logged nearly 9,000 km, figures the team highlights as part of its reliability push. (newsroom.genesis.com) The program hit key milestones on a compressed schedule: the first 3.2‑litre turbo V8 fired in February 2025, chassis builds by ORECA were completed and chassis and powertrain were united in August 2025 ahead of full track testing. (motorsport.hyundai.com) Technically the GMR‑001 is an ORECA‑based LMDh car packing a twin‑turbo V8 and the category’s spec hybrid hardware, putting combined output near the LMDh cap of ~500 kW (≈670 hp) and a class minimum weight around 1,030 kg. (primaryignition.com) Development work has included a night endurance validation at Algarve in September 2025 and a dedicated Imola test day in March 2026 as the team transitioned from winter running into race‑trim preparations.
