Jacquemus x Nike Restock
Jacquemus restocked Nike's 1972 Moon Shoe with Solange [https://x.com/i/status/2031221328506925266] – a minimalist streetwear flex [https://bet.com/article/uw4ctx/solange-knowles-lends-her-quiet-cool-to-the-new-jacquemus-and-nike-campaign].
The restock features three new colorways: Chocolate Brown, Sail (off-white), and a pale pink that aligns with Jacquemus' signature aesthetic. Designer Simon Porte Jacquemus found the Moon Shoe in Nike's archives and saw an opportunity to "write a new story" for the silhouette. Solange Knowles is the face of the campaign, embodying the collection's blend of ballet-inspired design and athletic heritage. The images, shot by Theo Wenner, highlight intimate moments rather than overt athleticism. The Moon Shoe was originally handmade by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman for the 1972 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials and was Nike's first sneaker to use the waffle sole. This reissue features a ruched nylon upper and a Nike Grind outsole made from recycled materials. The shoes launched on March 9th on the Jacquemus website, with a wider release of the Chocolate Brown and Sail editions slated for March 16th via the Nike SNKRS app and select retailers. The retail price is $180.
