Canva's AI Marketing Suite
Canva expanded into an AI Marketing Suite that bundles creation, collaboration and distribution into a single workspace. The suite includes an assistant-style interface that can generate and refine visuals from prompts, suggest assets and assemble campaign-ready materials for social media. (sentinel.ht)
Canva is pushing deeper into marketing software, adding artificial intelligence tools and automation so teams can build, publish, measure and optimize campaigns without leaving Canva. (canva.com) The company said on April 8 that it acquired Simtheory, an artificial intelligence workspace for custom agents, and Ortto, a customer data and marketing automation company founded by Chris and Mike Sharkey. Canva said the deals will help connect ideation, editing, publishing and performance tracking inside one system. (canva.com) Canva already markets a conversational product called Canva AI that lets users type or speak prompts, attach files for context, generate on-brand designs and refine work by tagging “@Canva” in comments. The company says the assistant can handle design, writing, image, video and code tasks in one interface. (canva.com) This expansion follows Canva’s October 2025 launch of Canva Grow, a marketing product that combines asset creation with performance analytics and lets marketers publish ads directly to Meta. TechCrunch reported that rollout as part of Canva’s push to sell more than design software. (techcrunch.com) Canva has been building toward that shift for months through acquisitions. In February 2026, it bought MangoAI and Cavalry, saying MangoAI would strengthen content marketing tools and Cavalry would add professional motion design to a suite that already included Affinity. (canva.com) The company is making the move with scale behind it. Canva told TechCrunch in February that it finished 2025 with more than 265 million monthly active users, more than 31 million paid users and $4 billion in annual recurring revenue. (techcrunch.com) Co-founder Cliff Obrecht described the strategy as an inversion of Canva’s earlier model. “We’re becoming an AI platform with a bunch of design tools,” he told TechCrunch in February, as the company framed itself less as a template app and more as a workflow layer for creative work. (techcrunch.com) Canva has said it will show early work from the Simtheory and Ortto integrations at Canva Create on April 16 in Los Angeles. The event page says the conference will feature more than 25 launches and 60 or more sessions. (canva.com 1) (canva.com 2)
