Hospitals, colleges partner for job pipelines
Clark College and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center are partnering to create a local job pipeline for surgical technologists reported.
The collaboration addresses a critical need, as surgical technologists are vital for preparing operating rooms and assisting surgeons during procedures. This partnership directly tackles staffing shortages in the healthcare sector by creating a more accessible and localized training program. Legacy Salmon Creek will offer clinical rotations and potential employment opportunities to Clark College students, giving them real-world experience. This hands-on approach enhances students' skills and makes them more attractive to potential employers upon graduation. Clark College’s existing Surgical Technology program provides a solid foundation, and the partnership enhances its practical application.
