ChatGPT Business model limits

OpenAI’s Help Center states that ChatGPT Business and Pro plans include access to GPT‑5.3 and GPT‑5.4 under 'unlimited' usage language that is gated by abuse guardrails. The published guidance lists model versions included for those tiers and frames access as subject to platform controls. (help.openai.com)

OpenAI says ChatGPT Business and Pro users can use GPT-5.3 and GPT-5.4 under “unlimited” language, but that access is still policed by abuse guardrails. (help.openai.com) The company’s Help Center says GPT-5.3 is now the default model for logged-in ChatGPT users, while GPT-5.4 Thinking is the higher-reasoning option for harder work. The same article says users can pick “Instant” for fast replies or “Thinking” for deeper reasoning. (help.openai.com) For Pro, OpenAI’s current plan page says the subscription includes “unlimited access to GPT-5” and legacy models, but warns that use must follow the Terms of Use. The policy examples listed there include automated data extraction, credential sharing, resale, and using ChatGPT to power third-party services. (help.openai.com) For Business, OpenAI uses similar language in both its pricing page and Help Center. The pricing page says Business is “Unlimited subject to abuse guardrails,” while the Business models page says the plan offers “virtually unlimited messages for the base models” under service-agreement limits. (openai.com, help.openai.com) The distinction is that “unlimited” here describes normal in-product use, not an unrestricted right to run bulk or commercial automation through a chat subscription. OpenAI says it may temporarily restrict usage when its systems detect possible misuse, and says access is restored if support finds no policy violation. (help.openai.com) OpenAI has also been reshaping the Business plan around seats, credits, and model tiers. Its Help Center says that as of April 2, 2026, Business added a Codex-only seat type and cut the price of standard ChatGPT seats by $5 per month, bringing monthly pricing to $25 per user or $20 per user on annual billing in most countries. (help.openai.com, help.openai.com) The model lineup changed at the same time. OpenAI says GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini, OpenAI o4-mini, and GPT-5 Instant and Thinking were retired from ChatGPT on February 13, 2026, with old chats and custom GPTs moved to GPT-5.3 Instant and GPT-5.4 equivalents. (help.openai.com, help.openai.com) That leaves OpenAI’s current message to paying users fairly clear: higher tiers get broad access to newer GPT-5.3 and GPT-5.4 tools, but the company still decides where ordinary use ends and abuse begins.
