Renesas ships 'Renesas 365'

Renesas announced general availability of 'Renesas 365 — Powered by Altium', positioning the company deeper into edge and developer tooling for embedded AI. The rollout highlights Renesas’ push to own more of the embedded AI stack.

Renesas completed the acquisition of Altium on August 1, 2024 for A$68.50 per share, a deal that represented roughly A$9.1 billion in equity value. (renesas.com) The company published the Renesas 365 launch on March 11, 2026 and said the platform’s initial phase integrates over 550 variants of its RA microcontroller family. (businesswire.com) Renesas 365 is built on the Altium 365 cloud platform, with Altium and Renesas describing the product as a cloud-first electronics system design and lifecycle environment. (altium.com) Renesas described Renesas 365 as connecting previously isolated artifacts — embedded software files, datasheets and application notes — into a single cloud-managed workflow to speed system-level decisions. (businesswire.com) Renesas’ blog piece by D.K. Singh notes the product was showcased at embedded world 2025 and includes input from Ted Pawela, Renesas’ VP and head of customer success (formerly Altium COO), on unifying firmware, software and hardware workflows. (renesas.com) Renesas positions Renesas 365 as an “industry‑first” model-based environment that recommends MCUs based on pin usage, peripherals, timing and power, and says future phases will maintain hardware and software subsystem elements inside the platform.
