Art Paris & street murals

Art Paris will return to the Grand Palais April 9–12 with a focus on language and reparation and curated presentations from leading galleries. (news.artnet.com) At the same time street artist Brusk launched “Délire(s) d'errance,” a free trail of ten new murals across Paris inspired by Don Quixote for the Urban Art Fair’s 10th anniversary. Organisers say the 28th edition will bring roughly 165 French and international galleries from more than 20 countries to the Grand Palais, while the Promises sector will showcase 27 galleries founded within the past ten years — 12 of them first-time exhibitors. (artparis.com) Two thematic projects are led by named curators: Loïc Le Gall is responsible for the Babel — Art and Language in France programme and Alexia Fabre curates the Reparation project, while Marc Donnadieu curates the Promises section; the fair’s Solo Show format will present 24 monographic presentations. (annarosathomae.com) Art Paris has programmed several prize and sectoral initiatives: a jury will select a woman artist for a €30,000 award sponsored by Boucheron (to be presented during an evening on April 11), and the north balconies host the French Design Art Édition alongside City of Paris presentations focused on African, South American and Caribbean artists. (artparis.com) Brusk’s Délire(s) d’errance is a ten-mural Donkishot series revealed progressively from March 13, with one new fresco unveiled each day in and around the Carreau du Temple (3rd arrondissement) and the route’s final stop installed at the M.U.R. Bastille, 38 rue de la Roquette. (sortiraparis.com) The intervention was commissioned for the Urban Art Fair’s 10th edition (the fair runs March 19–22 at Le Carreau du Temple) and is mapped via an interactive route on bybrusk.com; organisers and coverage note the works are ephemeral and may be removed in short order. (urbanartfair.com) Brusk describes the Donkishot figure as a “modern-day beacon” confronting information overload and civic doubt, a narrative continuation of his prior public interventions such as the Olympic-themed Faites vos jeux project.
