Ariana's AC Chart Comeback

Ariana Grande's "Twilight Zone" just debuted at #30 on Adult Contemporary — her 19th entry on the chart, nearly a year after the song's original release. The late chart entry shows the track's staying power and cross-demographic appeal beyond its initial pop run.

"Twilight Zone" was first released in April 2025 as the lead single from *Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead*, a reissue of her seventh studio album. The synth-pop track was co-written and co-produced by Grande alongside Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh. Before its Adult Contemporary debut, the song was a solid performer on pop radio, spending 20 weeks on the Pop Airplay chart and peaking at #5 in July 2025. It also reached #23 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart in June of that year, indicating its initial crossover potential. The track's lyrical themes draw inspiration from the classic TV series of the same name, exploring feelings of disbelief and emotional detachment in the aftermath of a relationship. Fans have speculated the song reflects on her previous marriage to Dalton Gomez. This marks Grande's 19th career entry on the Adult Contemporary chart, a format known for moving slower than Top 40 radio. While the #30 debut is her lowest entry on this chart to date, the late arrival demonstrates a song's ability to find a second life with a different audience long after its initial promotional push. Grande's most successful track on the Adult Contemporary chart remains the holiday hit "Santa Tell Me," which climbed to #7. She has come close to the top 10 on two other occasions, with "Rain on Me" (with Lady Gaga) and "Santa Can't You Hear Me" (with Kelly Clarkson), both peaking at #11.
