Veneda Carter's Nike Collab Nears
Designer Veneda Carter's collaboration with Nike, the Air Max Muse ‘Racer Blue,’ is set to release on March 6. The release continues a trend of female designers reshaping sneaker culture, offering a bold but versatile shoe aimed at fashion-forward urban consumers.
Before becoming a designer, Veneda Carter was a stylist for high-profile clients like Kim Kardashian and worked with Kanye West's Yeezy brand. Her distinctive style, which she describes as influenced by '90s rap and hip-hop, often features exaggerated silhouettes and a blend of streetwear with high fashion. Born in Copenhagen to Polish parents, Carter began her career as a model before transitioning into styling. Her work is known for its sculptural and textural sensitivity, often playing with genderless proportions and a mix of masculine and feminine elements. This approach is evident in her eponymous jewelry line, which features bold, nugget-like textures. This isn't Carter's first major brand collaboration. She has previously partnered with Timberland on multiple collections, reimagining their iconic 6-inch boots with futuristic and high-fashion twists, such as a stiletto-heeled version. She has also designed accessories for the brand Ganni. The Danish-born, Los Angeles-based designer launched her own brand in 2022. Her work has been featured in publications like Vogue France and Vogue Scandinavia, solidifying her position as a significant force in contemporary fashion.
