Grand Teton National Park is beginning its 2026 summer rollout this month, with the first major facilities scheduled to reopen in late April and early May. (nps.gov) The National Park Service says Gros Ventre Campground is scheduled to open April 27, and Teton Park Road is set for its spring opening on May 1. Jenny Lake Boat Launch is also listed for May 1, weather dependent. (nps.gov) The Grand Teton National Park Foundation’s 2026 opening list matches the May 1 date for Teton Park Road and adds May 1 for Moose-Wilson Road, with Grassy Lake Road scheduled for June 1. Signal Mountain Summit Road is still listed as to be determined, pending more snowmelt. (gtnpf.org) Grand Teton stays open year-round, but the visitor experience changes sharply with the season. The National Park Service says that from November through April, some roads, all campgrounds, and most visitor facilities are closed or operating on reduced hours. (nps.gov) That makes these spring dates the practical start of the busy season, when road access expands and services come back in stages across the park. The park service says May through September are the most popular months to visit and are when most roads and facilities are open. (nps.gov) Gros Ventre is a key early opening because it is the park’s largest campground. The National Park Service lists 279 sites there, including 39 electric hookups, and says reservations are required through Recreation.gov. (nps.gov) The campground sits in the southeast part of the park near Jackson, along the Gros Ventre River, where the park service says visitors commonly see bison, moose, and mule deer. Recreation.gov says the campground also has four group sites and 10 ADA-accessible electric sites. (nps.gov) (recreation.gov) More openings follow in May and June. The National Park Service lists Colter Bay Visitor Center for May 9, Jenny Lake Visitor Center for May 15, Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve Center for June 1, and Jenny Lake Ranger Station for June 6. (nps.gov) Visitors should also expect delays in 2026. The park’s road page says multiple construction projects are planned this year, especially in the southern end of Grand Teton, and warns that short-term closures and delays may not appear immediately on the road status map. (nps.gov) For trip planning, the clearest takeaway is that Grand Teton’s summer access does not switch on all at once. Roads, campgrounds, visitor centers, and lake services are reopening on different dates, and the park service says all dates remain subject to change. (nps.gov)
