A BTS pop-up tied to the group’s “ARIRANG” release is running at Shibuya TSUTAYA in Tokyo through April 29. (shibuyatsutaya.tsite.jp) The store opened March 30 at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA, 21-6 Udagawacho, and the venue lists daily hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. from March 31 through April 29, after a 3 p.m. opening on day one. (shibuyatsutaya.tsite.jp) BTS’s Japan site said the Tokyo run included three locations: SHIBUYA TSUTAYA from March 30 to April 29, Tokyo Midtown from April 3 to April 19, and Tokyo Midtown Hibiya from April 7 to April 18. (bts-official.jp) At Shibuya TSUTAYA, the event spans the first floor and basement level, with official merchandise, tour goods, light-stick accessories and multiple versions of the “ARIRANG” album listed for sale. Buyers of one vinyl record get two random pop-up photo cards, and buyers of one standard album get one random card. (shibuyatsutaya.tsite.jp) The venue also used timed entry for part of the run. SHIBUYA TSUTAYA said visits from March 30 to April 19 required reservations through Weverse Ticket, and applications were limited to BTS Japan Official Fanclub members, with up to two tickets per slot. (shibuyatsutaya.tsite.jp) That setup fits how SHIBUYA TSUTAYA now operates. Culture Convenience Club reopened the building on April 25, 2024 as an event-heavy “cultural infrastructure” site built around pop-ups, collaborations and entertainment experiences rather than its old rental-store model. (ccc.co.jp) The current TSUTAYA site says rental service has ended, and it now promotes pop-ups, intellectual property collaborations and cafes as its core offer. BTS’s “ARIRANG” shop is using exactly the floors the company earmarked for limited-time events after the 2024 overhaul. (shibuyatsutaya.tsite.jp; ccc.co.jp) For fans, that turns a record release into a destination purchase. For the store, it turns one of Tokyo’s busiest corners into a short-run retail stage that stays open until Wednesday, April 29. (shibuyatsutaya.tsite.jp)
